Name: Emma
Bio: Emma is currently in an all girls Afrikaans school in Matric and loves it. She is strong at math, science and accounting and wants straight A’s at the end of the year. Her Birthday was the 5th of January and she wants to apply for her drivers licence. She also does music and plays first team Hockey.
How does this persona relate to the problem: Emma wants to apply for her drivers but she has a really busy schedule after school and wishes not to miss any classes to go and apply for her drivers during school times.
Needs: Food, water, security, bed, home, love, clothes, education.
Wants: Straight A’s, drivers licence, boyfriend, win, pass grade 7 Unisa exam for piano.
Motivations: Family, school, hockey, friends, confidence.
Pain points: Busy schedule, stress, pressure, English.
Significant insight: Emma can’t afford to waste any time. She has a very busy schedule
Persona 2
Name: Jacob
Bio: Jacob is a grade 11 student and wants to apply for his learners. Both his parents are hard working and have jobs. Jacob needs to make use of public transport to get to school and back home, because his parents are working. He does well in school although he can be forgetful sometimes and he loves art. Jacob is very ambitious and wants to apply for University to go study BaVisual communication.
How does this persona relate to the problem: Grant needs to connect with people who have the same issue as him who can give him advice and possibly refer him to a professional.
Needs: Food, water, security, bed, home, love, clothes, motivation.
Wants: University acceptance, car, good marks
Motivations: His family, ambition, future.
Pain points: Stress, public transport, forgetfulness, time.
Significant insight: Jacob does not have his own transport to go where he pleases.
Persona 3:
Name: Leila
Bio: Leila is an inspiring young first year student at Stellenbosch university who wants to become an entrepreneur. She comes form Port Elizabeth but is currently living in Irene res in Stellenbosch. She wants to apply for her drivers licence but wants to do the actual test during the June/July holiday when she is back home in Port Elizabeth. (she has heard rumors that they are more strict in Stellenbosch)
How does this persona relate to the problem: When applying for drivers you usually only get a test date three months after you have applied. Leila won’t be able to do her drivers test in the June/July holiday if she can only apply when she gets back home – she will have to be able to apply now while she is still in Stellenbosch. (this will be a very difficult process).
My app idea could be a solution to this!
Needs: Food, water, security, bed, home, love, clothes.
Wants: Start her own business one day, good paying job, relationship, more friends, get out more and be social.
Motivations: Her family, her big ideas, desire to change the world and her ambition.
Pain points: Stress, boredom, waiting, people who don’t care about the planet.
Significant insight: Leila does not like waiting and wants to plan ahead.
